So, You Got An Apartment

Updated: Dec 24, 2020

Getting your first apartment can be so exciting: you get to make your own "mini" home. So, what should you get?! Here are a few of my favorite apartment-living items that can help you stay organized, live healthy, and save a little money (those bills though!).

First up is this life saver. As the seasons change, so does that electrical bill. Am I right? If you like being comfortable, but don't want to go broke, check out the Lasko FH500 Fan and Space Heater Combo Tower. It has heatand it's got air, and … it looks good.

More likely than not, there will be bugs at some point in your apartment, and they will try to get into your food. OXO Good grip containers can help with that. I like their space saving designbecause apartment storage is limited.

The Bodum Bistro Electric Water Kettle is honestly one of the first items I looked forward to purchasing when I got my new place. It's a favorite brand among designers, and it's easy to see why.

Straight Up Bralette

DON'T DRINK THE WATER; trust me! A water filter system is something you will want to have. You don't have to get an ugly one. Brita has some stylish options. I love the Brita Monterey's classic style. It holds a lot of water, and I appreciate that I don't have to buy a filter every month.

Last, but not least, let's talk about something that allows you to live your best lazy life. The Kasa Smart Plug is one of my best friends. You know how we used to have "Clap on, Clap Off", well, this is an upgrade. It's a Bluetooth outlet that you plug into the wall outlet. So, when you tuck yourself into bed and forget the lamp on in the living room, you just press the button in the app to turn it off. You can also set up timers, schedules, and a few other things. I like to use mine for my plant-growing lamp to ensure my plants get the right amount of light.
